Lunar Eclipse

Lunar Eclipse

Our next lunar eclipse is occurring in the watery, emotional sign Pisces, on Friday the 28th. Not to stir the up and down waves of anxiety, but this eclipse is linked with: shadows, transformation, deep insights, mystical revelations, releasing past pain, removing cobwebs of entrapment, and using witchcraft or nitty-gritty detective skills to see through fraud.  Hummm…sounds like it’s time for a vacation at the beach where I ask a buff waiter to make lemonade with my lemons.

Historically, eclipse have been recorded for centuries. They are seen as omens, causes for transformation, celebration, and collective revelations. Some cultures hide from them while others are attracted by their movement.  Hopefully, this one will be a celestial signal for uplifting our spirits and improving our inner and outer alignments.  With the present current worldly turmoils, our collective energies certainly can use some heavenly healing.

On a mundane note, I’m hoping that this eclipse has a transformative effect on my two cat’s so that they start catching mice for their dinner instead of using them as hockey pucks at 2 in the morning.  Playing to win is the name of their purring game.

May your deepest depths be filled with a hopeful glow.

Taking a Lunar Journey

Taking a Lunar Journey

Using The Zodiac Light Oracle

By Kooch N. Daniels

Nakshatras also called lunar mansions by ancient sages and Vedic astrologers, have been viewed for thousands of years as a meaningful mode to watch the path of the moon on its monthly travel through specific segments of the star-filled ecliptic.  For those who understand the symbols associated with the 27 different Nakshatras, or moon signs, each becomes an ethereal resource that can disclose answers to questions such as: “Why am I in this body?”  “What is my karma?”  “Do I have a soul mate?” or other soulful questions that can involve marriage, divorce, and basically all aspects of worldly life.

Each of these 27 moon signs is connected to ancient deities, zodiac signs, planets, elements, animals in connection with attributes of the mind, body, emotions, and spirit. If you have a question about your life, you can look to your specific Nakshatra linked with your birth date to find your answers.

There are many reasons this resource is valuable.  Knowing your moon sign can accelerate your progress toward achieving your goals and help you fine tune how to take care of your earthly well-being.  The English name that accompanies each Nakshatra offers a snap shot view into its celestial theme.

If you’re interested in learning more about your moon sign, the planets, and your zodiac sign, I highly recommend that you find a copy my latest contribution to modern astrological interpretations.  It’s called The Zodiac Light Oracle — Nakshatras, Sun Signs, and Planets inspired by my teacher Harish Johari, and created by myself and an extraordinary visionary artist, Pieter Weltverede and my writing partner, Victor. It’s a fascinating blend of Vedic and Western astrology magically presented in a 48 card playing deck.  The cards images are divided between Nakshatras or moon signs, zodiac sun signs, and planets.

Happy New Year of the Horse and transits galore

Happy New Year of the Horse and transits galore

Don’t be surprised if you’re feeling a major shift from your norm as we transition into the Chinese year of the fiery horse. Power is key! Cosmically, we’re experiencing a solar eclipse in Aquarius, the sign of our collective, humanitarian spirit.

Also, Saturn, linked with structure, organization, tangible karmic lessons, is sitting kissing close to Neptune (illusion, imagination, fantasy) in the sign of Aries, the zodiac warrior. To make a long story short: It’s a good time to envision your well-being and take extra good care of yourself.  You can worry about Mercury being retrograde in Pisces, sign of the water loving fish, after Feb. 25th.

This morning after I finished sending my latest astro blurb to FB, a brilliant golden light flashed across the room about 4 feet in front of where I was sitting. Ten seconds later, the roaring sound of thunder crashed across my living room filling my being with terror.  I wasn’t sure if I was on my way to the other world as I saw my two cats running for their lives and ducking for cover.  All the metal in my mouth felt as if it was a melting saw blade cutting through my cheeks.  My heart went into crisis mode as I realized that a thunderbolt had just entered my personal world with a crash. Was my house about to fall apart? Was Thor coming to take me to the underworld, or was Kali coming in person to give me a difficult lesson that I’m needing to learn? While adrenalin pumped wildly throughout my body, I wondered if I would survive the moment.

Challenge is a word that leaves out the horrific feeling of stark terror.  I had left the word thunderbolt out of my astro narrative, not wanting to offer an overly negative divinatory message.  WTF!!!!  And now I had just come face to face with its sublime strength and beauty and watched it light shine like a spotlight on me from a close distance.

I’m breathing a bit better this afternoon after I had time to sleep and decompress. And I’m only feeling a stressful headache.  Maybe I shouldn’t stay awake til 5 am writing blogs???  What I know for sure is that I have so much gratitude for being alive today.  My take away message:  Enjoy each moment…in spite of the complexity of cosmic messages, as long as we’re awake in our body, we can each reach for the stars of our desires.

Sending wishes for your inner light to be one with the eternal flame burning within the compassionate hearts of master creators of the universe.

Love to each and every one of you!

This Powerful Moon ~ Your Holiday Astroscope

This Powerful Moon ~ Your Holiday Astroscope

Aries:  Illuminate your fiery energy by lighting the Xmas yule log!  Making cookies or candy might brighten your holiday to-do list. You only have a little time  ’til someone will ask where you’ve hidden your spicy mug of love.

Taurus:  Venus, the ruler of your sign, loves dancing, singing, and music. This is the perfect time to turn on your favorite jingle bell songs and make your evenings bright.  (Even if you can’t carry a tune, you can always just sing, sing, and sing along with happy vibes.)

Gemini:  Use glimmer gloss to soften your voluptuous lips.  This can brighten your smile and help sweeten the moment when you announce to someone that you want the receipt to return their too snug Xmas stockings or whatever needs to be exchanged. Better to use your Mercurial discretion and hold back comments like “those colors suck!”

Cancer:  It may be time for hot butter rum (if you’re over 21 or not stressing inflammation) to help you mull over your deep ocean of emotions.  Nothing warms the heart and defrosts your sensitive nature better than reaching for a warm cup of winterly deliciousness.

Leo:  It’s never too late to shop til you drop.  Let your Sun-fantastic nature take a few minutes to relax, then think about how much money you shouldn’t spend.  Don’t be too hard on yourself if (when) you decide to continue shopping.  It’s the holidays and even if you don’t want to shop…give from the heart which also has some great treats.

Virgo:  Never a time like now to de-stress, organize your finances, and check to make sure that your spending is aligned just right with your budget. Instead of saying baa-humbug to the expenses of the holidays, focus on having fun with family and friends.

Libra:  Inspiration comes to those who sing.  Instead of getting lost in by-gone memories, get out a list of holiday songs, and make merry singing your favorite tunes. Now is the time to connect with your inner Venus who is begging you to enjoy your life and rock out!

Scorpio:  If you’re old enough to seek romance, remove nervous concerns about getting along with others and open your heart to sharing positive energy.  (Even if relatives are coming to invade your space for the holidays.) In a red blink of Mars, Ol’ St. Nick will be here and gone, and the new year will be knocking on your door.

Sagittarius:  Talk yourself into an expansive mindset to take an inner journey to find undeveloped potentials for celebrating your life.  If you’re worried about choices concerning being naughty or nice, just be yourself.  You can’t help but find excuses to have a good time.  Who knows, the magic you seek may become visible with a peek into your inner self.

Capricorn:  Is your camera ready to catch your special moments?  Better check to make sure that you have everything you need to capture your holiday memories.  Don’t stress the season rush.  Make choices to enjoy the beautiful gifts in your life.  If you’ve just mentally responded with the comment, “What gifts???”, look at yourself in the mirror and smile with your beautiful eyes at the divine light that shines from within.

Aquarius:  No time like the holidays to open your heart to enjoying the season.  After all, you’re the “the humanitarian of the New Age”, and this can include stepping up in the moment and sharing your wisdom and joy. No pressure, but people are waiting for the light you are known to carry to illuminate the wheel of life and enlighten the path to better times.

Pisces:  The two fish swimming in life’s up and down currents are known to play in high and low waves of personal evolution.  This season give yourself the gift of taking time to listen to your inner muses. With ribbons, glue, sparkles, and joy, let your imagination create and play! Watch your creativity blossom and bring presents such as inner stability and peace to your inner spirit.

Readings available….also, gift certificates for the holidays….and I’m looking forward to new workshops coming!!!

Holiday Planetary News

Thank heavens we can say farewell to two planetary retrogrades as Mercury and Saturn have recently gone direct.  Their forward movement bodes well for complex issues flowing in a more harmonious direction and difficulties being resolved or becoming less intense.  The zodiac wheel turns bringing opportunities for travel, forward movement, new choices, and conscious evolution.  Mother Earth is celebrating by dancing with the wind and playing hide and seek with those who walk with an open-heart on her meandering paths.  Connecting with your inner silence and sensing the nurturing she gives brings tangible bounty into view.  This last full moon of the year (in Gemini) is the brightest you’ll see in a more than a decade as its light waves farewell to 2025 and illuminates new views of pathways to 2026.

Our new oracle deck, The Zodiac Light Oracle, published by Inner Traditions, is now available and can be ordered from your favorite bookstore.  (After 30 years of playing with its creation, I’m doing cartwheels to celebrate its birth.) You can read more info on my home page and book links.

Uranus, friend or foe?

Uranus, friend or foe?

If you’re experiencing the unexpected, Uranus may an influencing factor.  From now through Feb. 3 2026, it is retrograde (the celestial appearance of backward motion). Astrologically, its potentially yin or yang influence is known to awaken the “dawning light on reformed beginnings, meaningful ventures, intuition, and positive growth…” (quote from Stars, Cards, and Stones). But its present backward direction may trigger unexpected events and challenging solutions to old problems such as riots or demonstrations or hassles with rejuvenation procedures such as face lifts gone wrong.  Sometimes called Herschel, it has the reputation of influencing karmic directions and altering frequencies in the space that someone considers their private, psychic comfort zone. Not to be taken lightly, one of its primary duties is removing chains of oppression and modifying the annoyances caused by other’s dissatisfaction.

Uranus co-rules (with Jupiter) the Sun sign Aquarius, (the zodiacal humanitarian) and the 11th house on the zodiacal wheel that is linked with community affairs and friendships.  It is the planetary sign of the rebel, teenage rebellion, breakthroughs or break-ups and a sudden impulsiveness to protect those who appear to be under the weather or abused by other’s wrong doings.

Not surprisingly, Uranus rules the Tarot card the Fool, (expect the unexpected) and through this major arcana card numbered zero, it’s planetary attributes are considered favorable for increasing “in the now” communications.  Key to this card’s interpretation are the phrases “rebel without a cause,” “don’t hold me down,” and the words “unconventional” and “sudden change.”

A poem in this moment for Uranus

        Butt-Bare Naked, Unafraid, and Impulsive

Transcendent dreams of awakening

Invites the restless heart

To soar high like an eagle,

With uplifted wings of freedom loving, bright boons

Upholding truth while living with passion to invoke a better world.

Oh dear me…my bed is calling and my cat is yawning…there’s so much more to say about Uranus…but not now.

Love to all,

Kooch
